The artwork is stunning (as usual) and the 3D characters too, but they somehow don't quite fit together IMO.
It seems -- especially in the woods area -- that the background uses another perspective than the characters. If you focus on the charater, the trees look as if they all "fell back" while he stands upright. If you focus on the environment though it looks as if someone, in a cartoon-y fashion, dropped a weight on the characters heads and they've shrunk vertically. (It might be your purpose to make it look a bit like a boardgame with 3D characters, which would be an interesting artstyle too.) This might be a bit hard to fix though. (and probably you'll get used to it anyway)
Also, in the first area, something feels a bit odd. The trees are too far apart to come across as a forest, yet are too close to field with trees. I suggest
1. Making a clear "forest line" with bushes etc.
2. Leaving a bit more open space for the road, especially if you're going for that paved, stony road look (trees have been cut to make way for it after all). Just a dirt path would fit better in this context.
The camera's a bit too much zoomed in for my tastes in open environments like the forest part. For more cramped environments, like the cave, the camera is perfect though. Maybe you could use a variable camera distance, based on context?
The character movement looks a bit slow. Maybe you could add a "run" button for people who don't like to enjoy the scenery.
In the battle, some of the movement seems really abrupt. Especially the pink bat-monster could use some extra frames at the end of it's claw attack. (I know this is probably because the game's still in an early development stage (as are many other things I mention), but I just thought I'd mention it.)
The "avatar circle"-thingie looks a bit "alone" down there... I'd recommend adding some extra UI elements and/or giving it a more "horizontal feel" by by making it wider (by adding a completely unobtrusive, small decorative horizontal bar behind the circle for example (I imagine it being illustrated with some images of dragons, knights,... carved in wood or something that fits the theme of the game); not necessarily across the whole screen -- that would unnecessarily take up too much space for just one "avatar circle".)
Alternatively, you could make it less prominent by shoving it to a side, or "grounding" it to the bottom. Right now it demands too much attention.
[You don't need to heed any of this advice at all, it's just me nitpicking over small details... I don't know if you -- or you other team members -- are people that like a lot of (well-meant) critique; I only reasoned that if I were making a game I'd want it to be absolutely perfect, to the smallest detail, and that's what I'm commenting about]
Also, I'll send the video/link to some of my friends that like RPGs right away...
IMO character movement seems a bit sluggish.
