thanks for this...so having a real-life reference gives it a much more realistic feel.....and just using default brushes....heh I still have a lot to learn..especially lighting....

hey! pretty stupid question, but um... what did you do between 4th and the last pic? How did you get all those different colors turned into harmony? By textures? Or just lots of details handmade?

all the textures were hand painted with various brushes. available on my site.
did get the colors i would make a new layer, use the airbrush to glaze a color over it, then change the blending mode of the layer itself till something looked cool. remember to adjust the opacity of the layer too. then erase what you don't need then drop the layer.
